Module 10: Figure Ca2+ signals in Purkinje cell soma



Depolarization-induced Ca2+ signals in a Purkinje cell.

Ca2+ was recorded using the Ca2+ indicator Calcium Green-5N. When the neuron was depolarized for 100 ms from −60 mV to 0 mV at the time of the second image (white flag), there was a rapid increase in Ca2+ that was mainly confined to a narrow ring of cytoplasm immediately below the plasma membrane of the soma.
