Exocytosis triggered by Ca2+ released through ryanodine receptors (RYRs or inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors (InsP3Rs from the endoplasmic reticulum. The asterisks indicate the local microdomains of Ca2+ responsible for triggering membrane fusion.
